High Five for Friday 4.20.12

I have been seeing alot of blogs that I LOVE doing posts on Friday about things they seen, did, or hear the past week that they loved. So I thought maybe it would be a great idea for this blog so that on weeks that I didn't get time to do a long blog I could at least post 5 things that happened or that Hensley said that were worth writing down :) We'll see how it goes!!

1. Hensley was diagnosed with walking pneumonia on Monday BUT it's now Friday and he's feeling so much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2.  We are officially and iPhone family! And I think Hensley likes them more then we do! He's been on mine non stop!

3. TAX REFUND!!!!! need i say more????

4. Along with getting our new phones I have discovered......INSTAGRAM! I am in big trouble!!!

5.  Finally, Andy and I started the project of redoing our walkway to the front door today and it's been a long time in the making. We have looked at a million ideas and I am so happy to see the end results!

IN PROGRESS!!!!

Starter Ball = LOVE

It's Ball Season! :) This is Hensley's first season of "starter ball' (aka tee ball). As much as he loves baseball (hence the birthday these!) we were VERY excited to sign him up to play with Level Cross Association. The recreation ball program near us would only allow kids his age play soccer plus Level Cross has an amazing organization and he would play with kids he attends preschool with! It just seemed like a perfect fit.

Now at registration there was a little box on the sign up sheet to check if you would like to "help" with the team so of course if you know me ...i checked that box!!! we got a surprise a few weeks before season started that Andy was going to be THE COACH for Hensley's team! After the initial shock and anxiety (and 1st game) Andy really loves it and does a great job. I think it's been a better experience for him then Hensley!

The first game was a huge shock to Hensley he really had no idea what he was walking into ...it was early....it was cold...and he was getting a cold. SO.....he cried and insisted he be held the entire first game :/ But he was there he was in uniform and he did watch a little bit :)

Always find a positive :)

On to game 2 last week....He didn't cry! Positive! He did practice throwing the ball a little! Positive! But....no playing! He did however thoroughly enjoy sitting in the dugout eating Funonions and playing in the dirt! :) Which is perfectly fine by me! :)  We hope as the week progress that he will warm up to it a little more each week.

But until then I am happy to watch him just play in the dirt :)

Sick Day....or week!

Its been an eventful few days in our home and NOT in a good way. My grandma has been hospitalized for a few days now with some pretty major heart problems :( and Hensley started not feeling well a few days ago and it's progressively gotten worse. Terrible cough, slight fever here and there, and runny nose ....so off to the doctor we went. And for the 2nd time in his life.....he has pneumonia!! Walking pneumonia in both lungs :/ UGH!

Always something and it seems too call occur at once.

On a good note we are currently planning our annual family vacation to the beach in the May! :) So excited to stick my toes in the sand and relax! :)

Here are a few photos from last year...my how Hensley has grown!!!

Year #3

It was birthday party time in the Whitt household last Saturday and what a day it was. I usually stress out to the max over the birthday party for weeks (sometimes months!!) and through the whole party! But this year was a little different. Now I admit I stressed for weeks on end before the party. I usually already know after one birthday party what the next years theme will be and this year was no different. I had known for a while I was doing a baseball theme partly because it was insanely cute but also because Hensley loves baseball (playing and watching) and because he was soon going to be on his very first team!

For weeks I bought decorations, made crafts, thought of cake ideas, and planned planned planned. Every year so far we have had Hensley's party at Hagan Stone Park which is a great park in Pleasant Garden, with a great picnic area and grills and playgrounds for the kids. One problem....his birthday is at a very unpredictable weather time here! The 1st birthday it was cold! :( The 2nd birthday was extremely windy :( So this year we took a different route and I am so glad we did. We held his party INSIDE at the Greensboro Children's Museum! It rained and rained and rained the night before so I was so thankful we switched it up this year. It took me all over 20 minutes to set up the party room and we decided to order pizza (which is also a switch up from years past where we put alot of time and effort into grilling out hotdogs). 20 minutes of set up time and a phone call to the pizza place and we were free to play, take photos, and chat with our family and friends! It was a very good change!

We had an out pour of friends and family come like every year and it was a blast! The amount of gifts he gets every year is absolutely ridiculous and he loves every minute.
