Mother's Day 2014

I LOVE MOTHER'S DAY!!!! What mother doesn't??!!!! This Mother's Day seemed to last a lot longer because Hensley brought home so many little gifts each day from school. With everything going on with my mom's health too I was extra excited to show her how thankful I was to have her here with us and at the same time it was sad because it was our first holiday without my Grandma. We missed her so much and it was very hard on my mom but we made it through it and made a special trip to her graveside.

Hensley made me so many beautiful gifts at school. This littler fill in the blank about me was hilarious. And the lavender hand soap they made was amazing!!

A few days before Mother's Day Andy took us to dinner at our favorite family restaurant. He told me at dinner he wanted to make a stop on the way home and pick up my gift. Side note: Andy never prepares ahead of time for these things so I was very impressed!

I was totally surprised when we walked in Sears and straight to this beauty :) I have wanted one for so long.

I woke up early with this little cutie and I am most grateful that he made me a mother :) It's the best gift of all.

On Mother's day we attended church with my family and we gave my mom her gifts ;) I made her some amazing coasters with pictures of Hensley and my grandma on them. We also got her an Origami Owl necklace with our birthstones inside ;) She loved all of it!!!

We made a stop on the way to church to visit my Grandma's graveside and replace the flowers on her headstone. We also placed some wind chimes in the trees right beside where she is buried. She always loved them! :)

Hensley made me one last gift in children's church ;)

We went out to lunch with my mom and Andy's mom which is a rare occasion. It was very nice to be able to sit down and enjoy some lunch and their company :)

Mother's Day was great! One I will remember for a long time to come :)

Thank you little Hensley for making me a mother ;)

He's 5!!!

It's that time of year again.....birthday time!!! We are celebrating the BIG 5 this year and it's really exciting...and I'm not going to lie....a little sad too! I can't believe this birthday is already here. It sure came fast! Hensley has been asking for a whole year to have his birthday at the bowling alley so it was easy to pick a place this year. Next was the theme. I was really hoping and rooting for a Lego theme this year but after multiple times of asking he had the same answer every time....Mario Race.

The local bowling alley was recently renovated and is really cool. It has awesome lanes, a pretty great arcade, and laser tag which Hensley was most excited about. The other great thing about doing it at the bowling alley was that they do all the decorating and getting things ready. All I had to do was bring the cake and a few balloons. Every year has had a to do list a mile long and I was thankful this year for it to be a little more relaxed for me!

Granny got him a new bike for his birthday!!!!

We ordered the cake from the same lady that has done his cake the past few years and she is AMAZING. Her cakes not only look awesome but they taste even better. I sent her several pictures this year and she went above and beyond. We were so happy with the end result.

This year since Hensley is getting a little older he had several requests of who he wanted to attend and a lot more friends that he spends a lot of time with and we ended up with a great crowd of people who were so excited to celebrate Hensley's big day. First up was bowling :)

Baby Zoey

Katelynn :)

The kids had a blast. No one cared who was winning they were just having a blast bowling and helping each other out and most of all enjoying the disco lights and dancing. Hensley enjoyed the dancing the most :) It was great to just let them play and sing and dance while we got to talk to all the adults. Hensley was in his own world of fun and friends and it's exactly how I wanted him to feel on this day.

Next up was pizza and drinks! The kids were more then ready to eat and it was nice to be able to let them eat and play at the same time.

Mom and Andy are always having fun. :)

Time for dessert :) I was so ready for the cake to come out for everyone to see :)

Time for presents!!! This year, like most, Hensley was very blessed with lots of gifts :)

Then it was on to laser tag. All of the kids loved this!! It was worth having the party there just itself. It was hot and I thought I may sweat to death but it was the most fun!!

This was a blast! I am so so glad we decided to include this in our party package.

Each child that attended the party got a 5 dollar card to spend in the arcade. The kids loved it so much and it was a great way to end the party ;)

The bowling alley gives each birthday kid a real bowling pin for all the party guests to sign :) It was a very sweet thing and something to hold on to to remember this awesome party. We couldn't have asked for a better time. Our little boy is truly loved and blessed to be surrounded by so many people who love him :) Can't believe it's already been 5 years!!!

Happy Birthday Little Man :) We love you the mo mo mo mo mo mostest!!!
